Super Bowl XLIV

7 Feb

The Colts lost :(

But our party still kicked butt. After weeks of writing about our party, I finally have pics to share even though I forgot to take pics of the food.

I promised V a manly tablescape and I think I delivered. My sister recently bought a Cricut which made the whole thing really easy. As with all my other tablescapes, I didn’t want to spend any money so I pulled it together using materials I had around the house. I spent $5 to buy a pack of paper though since I didn’t have blue paper.

The Trapezoid Slice

5 Jan

V and I went out for a fancy dinner like a proper couple. We got all prettied up and he even opened the car door for me, woo!

But the good behavior stopped there. Once we got to the dining table, the gloves came off. We ate with our hands, ordered way too much food and ate it all, and ordered dessert even though our stomachs were already stretched beyond normal capacity.

More Ice Cream!

18 Dec

You might have read about my attempt at making taro ice cream. My second attempt at ice cream yielded much better results. The consistency was smoother and the flavors are much more intense. I’m definitely going to make this again (but with a tad less sugar next time).

mmmmm

Adventures in Domesticity: Ice Cream Edition

15 Dec

I made ice cream!

Many of my friends mistakenly think I’m a slacker in the kitchen. I was at a wedding recently where the emcee joked about the bride’s lack of culinary skills. And all the people at our table pointed at me. Such f*ers (just kidding, friends).

It’s not that I don’t/can’t cook, V just likes to cook a lot more than I do. But I’m trying to cook more these days to redeem my good name.

Behold my homemade taro ice cream.

Crappy Candy

21 Oct

V bought crappy candy to give out for Halloween. So not cool!

On the left is “Peanut Butter Pumpkin Cup” and on the right is “Decorated Fudge Filled Skulls.” His other crappy finds also included little chocolate cups filled with “caramel.”

But he felt guilty so he also bought a bag of Snickers. I call dibs on the leftover Snickers.
